PartyPoker and Poker Rooms That Allow US Players

PartyPoker is no longer accepting US-based poker players. Players from Europe, Canada and other non-US players are still welcome to continue registering and playing at Party Poker.
US residents: several major sites are still taking US players. Among them are Poker Stars, Absolute Poker, Ultimate Bet, Hollywood Poker, Poker Room and Full Tilt Poker. Playing online poker in itself does not breach federal laws! ArtPoker.net recommend you to check with your country or state laws before starting to play for the first time.

By now every online poker player in the already knows about the looming ban on online gambling in the USA. However, that is not altogether true and the reasons for that are explained below.

The Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act of 2006 targets financial institutions, banks and credit card processing companies from making transfers to online gambling sites and companies. That is not something new. Most online gamblers use e-wallet companies or 3rd party processors to successfully deposit money to online gambling sites (such as Neteller, Moneybookers, EcoCard etc.).

The act is mainly linked to financial transactions between gaming companies and banks, and no penalties have been established to daunt individual players who want to play casino or poker online.

Several of the major publicly owned poker companies such as Party Gaming (PartyPoker) and 888 (Pacific Poker and Casino on Net) have stopped accepting wagers from US players for the time being, at least until more light is shed the bill since there will surely be some confusion on what it all means, and they might resume online gaming for US players (for money) at any time once matters are clarified.

We recommend that you stay away from smaller, unknown online poker rooms. The reasons for that are that such fraudulent poker rooms might use the act as grounds for not paying you. Our advice for you is to stay with the larger, familiar online poker rooms that accept players from the United States such as Ultimate Bet (UltimatBet.com), Paradise Poker (ParadisePoker.com), Poker Room (PokerRoom.com), Hollywood Poker (HollywoodPoker.com), Doyles Room (DoylesRoom.com) and many others. We are keeping watch on developments and will constantly update our lists of all the trustworthy poker rooms and casinos that accept US players.
